Hello and thank you for your extensive effort to untangle the confusion created largely by ventilator manufacturers to differentiate the “modalities” on their devices. I would like to add that other types of lung ventilation can be reviewed and harmonized here as well. These modalities fall into the high-frequency oscillator, high-frequency jet ventilator application groups. In some cases these are the adjunct modalities used with Control or CPAP settings. Today we use what we term HFJV with CPAP for anesthesia during ablation surgery. Thank you again for your work here.

Thanks for your comments. A new draft standard defining terms for high frequency ventilation will be available by the end of 2022.
